Welcome to St. Andrews 2000.

St. Andrew 2000 names in honour of its venerable Scottish’s St. Andrew. St. Andrews 2000 is located in picturesque hilly countryside in the South Easten Thai province of Rayong, just over half and hour’s drive from the famous seaside resort town of Pattaya. Designed by the flamboyant English-born and Cambridge-educated architect Desmond Muirhead, St. Andrews 2000 opend for play in-you guessed it-the year 2000. The sprawling par 74 course adjoins its sister layout, the older, well established par 72 layout of the Rayong Green Valley Country Club.

It’s not a typo-par is 74 for an astounding back market length 0f 7777 yard, thanks to the two endlessly long par6. The two monster holes in question are the fourth and 13th, which weigh in at 855 and 857 yards respectively. Moirhead has created a visually stunning, sweeping layout that must rank among the best new courses in the land of a thousand smiles.

St. Andrews 2000, an uncompromisingly tough golf course that will test even the best of golfers to their limits.

Working with a spactacular, undulating natural topography, St.Andrews 2000 was built to replicate the wind-swept Scottish links courses, offering an uncompromising challenge aimed at players with handicaps of 18 or lower. Opened at the dawn of the Pacific Century, this course will soon become known as one of Asia's true championship courses. Desmond Muirhead created a full 18 holes, 74 par of memorable golf, featuring elevated tees and greens, tight landing zones, split elevation fairways, huge putting surfaces and two par 6's.

The Course demands a combination of both power and accuracy, with the strategic positioning of hazards forcing the player to remain focused on each and every shot, as one mental error can be very costly. This is a touch, demanding course that will test every club and trick in your bag, and leave you with lots of stories to tell your friends about a challenging round of golf that will create lasting memories.

I played this course over Chinese New Year and was told that if you are not an 18hcp or lower do not play... I did anyway and enjoyed my round thoroughly although it is a tough course it is well maintained. The par 6 with two shots over the water is bit ridiculous though.

A difficult course, fairway seems wide, but you must drive accurately. 2 par 6 holes are challenging and interseting . The conditions of greens and fairways are better than 2 years ago, but caddies and house facility can improve!

The best golfing experience I have had - spectacular in places. It would have been better with a knowledgeable caddie, paricularly for example on the first par 6, which is a novelty, not a golf hole. The use of carts is necessary, however sharing without a smart caddy, can mean that you end up with the wrong club in your hand and your bag gone - club selection is vital on this course. Bunkers play a large part of design and could be better maintained. Greens were generally slow and a little inconsistent in pace. Overall - brilliant and with the package deals available, outstanding value.

Golf is very good condition. But not expect any good welcome from all staff if you are Thai person. They all provide very bad service with bad face when they know you are Thai person.

I played here in feb 2005 and I intend to play here again in March 2006.Why? Quite simply I cannot remember when I enjoyed a days golf more. The course may be quirky in places but it's a fantastic challenge. Our caddies did a super job and joined in all the laughs. They fully deserved their large tip because their expertise was the key to us all playing well. I have lived on the story of my Birdie 5 for nearly a year and I am up for the challenge again. Are you?

Wow! Don't get suckered in by the breathtaking views. You need to be on top of your game or you'll go home with your tail between your legs. Cheer up!

An extremely beuteful cource, but a little bit to hard for me, hcp 18. Two par 6-holes is at least one to much.

this is my favourite golf course in the world! fantastic vistas, challenges, caddies, fairways. holes 3,6,9,14,15 and 17 all great. hole 4 needs a little tinkering to get it right but can be done. do it! if you do not enjoy this course then you are either a stick in the mud or your skill is insufficient to play here. it is difficult for inaccurate or short hitters..... but the scorecard says that anyone over handicap 18 might struggle, so you have been warned. try also the course next door. rayong green valley is worth a visit.

First time our group played here and what a great course!! A real challenge and you have to be on top of your game. My caddie was very good. Her yardages and 'read' of the greens was spot-on. Now we know the layout, can't wait to get back.

Played this course 2 times 21.02 and 25.02. Great course, I experienced something new on each hole. Greens and fairways were well maintained. Made my 2.nd eagle ever on hole nr.7. Really fun. Caddies were good but they are better on LCB. Par 6 were tough but reachable. I`m going to play this course next year as well.

There is very nice golf course and perfect design. It would be the longest and very challenging from back tee. Most of green are soft and spinning, but many cadies are stiff as a poker never smile. However there is worth to play for any low handicap golfer, except the beginner. (20/SEP/2005)

This is my favorite golfcourse of all I played in Pattaya area. The golfcourse is in exellent shape. It offers some great background scenery. One definitively needs his A-game for full enjoyment. I've never been to a course that recommends a 18 HCP or lower, but it doesn't seem to be exaggerated. Fortunately I had a good day. The most notable feature on the golfcourse are the split fairways on different levels (seen on 4 holes). About the par 6's : They are not the greatest holes on the course, but still enjoyable. On number 4 (par six)I thought I was on in 6, but both caddies said 7, and they were right. A buggy I think is needed to drive from the green to the next tee.

A very, different course from all the others i played. Very high placed and small greens with bunkers around , some times steeps 6-8 m upp to green from bunker.... Some water holes you have to carry 170m Interesting layout a different challenge that was a nice experience,, some thing to remeber and gossip around .... Some thing you dont forget....! Play it !

I played in January 2005, on Tuesday i played Rayong Green Valley and i was very impressed, on Wednesday i played St.Andrews and i was a bit dissapointed, it was more then double the price with compulsory golfcards, so one could expect something. But i like Rayong Green Valley better then St.Andrews. The Green where very slow, and the first par 6 is not a very good hole. If i have the choice i will rather play Rayong Green Valley or Phoenix then St.Andrews. The Layout is interesting, the scenery and maintenance are breathtaking, but it's too expensive with the stupid policy of compulsory golfcards?? I hope they will not follow on the other golfcourse with compulsory golfcards!
