Perfect Place for Relaxation
from USA (June 29, 2005)
Our family of 6 plus the 2 grandparents visited Kamala Bay Garden Resort in mid March. We loved our stay there. We didn´t see anything to complain about. The rooms were spotless and huge, the food was fantastic. This resort was not affected by the tsunami. The beach was a 300 yard walk from the resort and beautiful! It was crystal clear blue. There are a few other restaurants within walking distance of the resort and they were all good and prices ranged from 90 baht to 300 baht for a main course meal. Our kids loved the pool, they could have played there all day. The staff was helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this resort.

Great Value and Service
from Taipei, Taiwan (July 26, 2005)
We have just returned from 7 nights at the Kamala Bay Garden. Tucked away just off the southern end of Kamala Bay, the resort is away from the more congested tourist spots, but well within reach should you grow weary of the peace, tranquility and privacy here. Travelling as a family of four, we enjoyed the space of the one bedroomed suites, which suited our needs perfectly. The highlight of the resort is undoubtably the pool, a kids pool great for smaller kids and a much larger pool with a slide. Best of all the staff. I had the misfortune to get bitten by a mystery bug in some grass, the staff rallied to my aid, taking me first to an emergency doctor, then onto the hospital. The manager stayed with us to make sure all was well, and the next day sent flowers and fruit to wish me a speedy recovery. Their concern for both me, and my family was heartfelt and much appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed the remainder of our stay, and couldn´t recommend this wonderful place more. As expats in Asia we have had numerous resort holidays in the region. These people are some of the friendliest we have encountered.

Our children want to go back
by Ulrika Werner from Sweden (August 18, 2005)
The friendly and nice hotel personal. Our children loved them, the food, the pool and the country. Of course their parents to. We want to go back to the same hotel. The children were 2 and 4 years in 2000 and they want to bring their little sister to Thailand.

being there....being at the pool, is a must
by Gary from Singapore (November 2, 2005)
as you checkin to your rooms you´ll past the pool, and wonder ´hurry put the bags down and dive in´ the kids spent much of their stay by the pool making friends from all around, there is also a play room for them if the weather ain´t good, and a spa next to that, so you can off load the kids and go for a massage at a good price too. location is 15 min ride to patong where all action is at night. also recomend to hire a car or jeep to get around, easier on the wallet. rooms are really comfortable, selection at the buffet breakfast can fill you beyond lunch. a cemetery greets you at the beach which is rather quiet. STAY at the POOL!!!

Wonderful,friendly staff, great value
by Cindy from South Carolina, USA (October 17, 2005)
We have stayed here twice and the staff are wonderful. They really work hard and seek to help in any thing - they arranged a birthday cake for my husband and are so kind to the children. Sparkling clean pool with water slide a huge draw for our family.

We would pay peak season rates for this place and still feel satisfied!
from London, UK (July 5, 2005)
Our family of four just enjoyed a wonderful week long stay at the Kamala Bay Garden resort, taking advantage of the amazing low season rates. The one bedroomed suite was perfect for our requirements, spacious and simply furnished with a great view over the pool. The pool itself was the highlight of the trip for my boys (aged 2 & 4), they had a separate kids pool, and a large pool with, what my 4 year old assures me "the greatest slide in the world". The beautiful beach, Kamala Bay, was hit quite badly in the tsunami, so there is some construction along the foreshore, however they are well on the way to being 100% . The village at Kamala is wonderful, a world away from the neon nightmare of Patong, although only 15 mins away by car. Great bars and restaurants are here, with better prices and a much better vibe.

Great food and friendly staff
by Julie C. Smude from Chiang Rai, Thailand (December 20, 2005)
loved the excellent service and the helpful staff. The food is excellent - down to the Swedish Meatballs and gravy! Was a bit inconvenient for going to any popular beaches, but could readily catch transport. Overall, an excellent place to stay. The pool is amazing complete with waterslide!

Location is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Somewhat isolated from the rest of Kamala Beach. This property caters to Swedish families with many small children.

Spacious rooms, functional rather than attractive, staff were not so friendly

liked the rooms, good food and choice of facilities, location not so good although within easy reach of better beaches. Staff could have been more friendly.

Quiet location with excellent pool
by Stefni Deaton from Texas, USA (April 6, 2006)
Kamala Bay is one of the quieter locations yet it is not far from Patong, so you can enjoy the quiet when you want that and jet over to Patong to shop or enjoy some noise. Every one there was great from the refreshing cool towel after the harrowing journey there from the airport, to checkout when they carry out your bags and look over your room to make sure you have everything. Overall enjoyable. My one problem was that the suite was spacious, but not overly decorated so that it seemed empty.

great family place..
by allison vaneyk from australia (April 15, 2006)
Fantastic value for money, in rooms and we had breakfast included, so that was good. We are from Australia and were the only family along with our friends from Aus. They cater big time to Europe places. The other guests from an aussie point of view were super rude, children included, but hey we all cant be perfect... Pool is ace for the kids, they could play and slide all day. Kids club is only for limited age group. And hey we didnt speak German. Kamala its self is ace, Our family is not really into Patong, we can go there if we please but not to stay. The resturants on the beach are ace. Had heaps of dinners there. Didnt eat much at hotel. To much to see and do. It takes about ten minutes walk to get into Kamala itself which is ace. You can walk along the beach or road. Two bedroom suits are ace, you could have your own space. Ours was right infront of the pool, groud floor(what more do you want!!) We paid about a half of alot of other resorts and we go away each year so i no my prices. Great place give or take those little things.

Great place to relax with kids.
by Ally Van Eyk from Australia (April 19, 2006)
We have just returned from 17 nights at the Kamala Bay garden Resort. We have 2 children, 7 & 2. Having 2 bedrooms was fantastic for us as not many places in our budget will allow it. The hotel was great, the waterslide fantastic. The kids loved playing in the hottest part of the day where you cannot be outside walking about. We are Australia and apart from the friends that we went with we were the only Aussies. The resort really does cater to the Euroepean market. But if the sometimes rude other guests dont bother you then hey.. We still would go back. There is a small strip shop out of the hotel where you can pick up anything. Kamala its self is about 15 mins walk. Ace walk along the beach or if you are feeling lazy 100 baht in took took. 10 Mins in took took to Patong so very easy to get to. For us and with kids its nice to go but better to come back. Resturants in Kamala are great, we had some fantastic dinners on the beach for only about $30-$40 Aussie dollars(heaps of food and a few cocktails!!) Consider this place its good value.

Friendly staff & great facilities
by Craig Viskovic from Melbourne, Australia (November 2, 2006)
We stayed at this resort in September 2006 for 7 nights. We found the staff to be extremely attentive, helpful & friendly - though we went in the low season, so the resort was nowhere near full. The kids loved the pool & the resort facilities. The rooms are huge & very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this hotel & would stay again.

excellent resort for families
by Leslie W. from Singapore (May 5, 2007)
This is a great hotel for families - very spacious rooms and lots of flexibility with the pullout beds in the sitting room. The kids love the pool here and we have stayed here on 3 occasions. The hotel does seem to have difficulty providing hot water - it was in short supply each time we stayed there - despite the fact that each visit was in the low season and the hotel was nearly empty! Otherwise everything is perfect.

I recomend this hotel in a calm area
by Mr. Roger Olofsson from Sweden (November 10, 2007)
The hotel is located in a real calm area, at least calm during our visit in end of October-07. We travelled as a family with two adults and two children. We had to separate rooms that were connected via the balcony. This solution worked fine for us. If you want to relax by the nice pool or walk the 20 meter to the beach is up to you. It is possible to walk along the beach and there are several nice small restaurants serving delicious food for really good price. The hotel has a restaurant of their own with good food and a very good breakfast. There is a small village about 5 minutes walk from the hotel there you will find restaurants, some few shops, a small supermarket, pharmacia etc. We really enjoyed our stay at Kamala Beach Resort
