Siam Country Club, 15-minute from Pattaya, is found by Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha, and opened on 1 March 1971. For over 35 years, the idyllic, bucolic setting embroidered by arching trees and adorned by lush, mature landscaping has been a magnet for members and vacationers.

The golf course and clubhouse have been completely renovated and officially open again on 14 May 2007. The renovation of the golf course had kept the same layout but completely rebuild the rest of the golf course from tee to green with a wall to wall cart path. The renovation works bring Siam Country Club to a truly international championship standard and one of the Thailand’s best.

The clubhouse facilities have also received a completely face-lift to a new modern, relaxing atmosphere overlooking the 18th green. To commemorate this remarkable renovation, the name of Siam Country Club has now changed to Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course. Mr. I. Izumi was the course architect of the original par-72, 7,016 yards. The course architect for the renovation is Mr. Lee Schmidt of Schmidt-Curley Design Inc., and remains a par-72 but is now lengthen to 7,162 yards.

i is indeed sad to see this fine old course in such a sad state i have played it now for 3 years and it is in need on serious repairs.the caddies are as allways superb as is the layout the course is however tired and fairways/cart paths need major repairs.i do sincerley hope it recaptures its past glory,i love golfing in thailand and will allways return.

The fairways were a disipointment, very very dry and hard.... I played last days of december 2004. The course is more playable in oct-nov, from what i heard by locals.

Oh my God! Why can't they spend more effort on the fairway and bunkers, and less on trimming bushes into elephants and other animals??? Hope they will do something with this course, because the layout is good! Terrible conditions... I hope I was unlucky...

Very popular due to the close vacinity to Pattaya. Club house facilities are basic, but adequate. Course is a fair test to the average golfer and worth a visit. Condition can be mixed, although generally above average. Can be very busy and therefore speed of play is often slow. Some good holes, mixed with some less interesting.

I'm a 5-handicap golfer in the UK and played in Feb 2004 with my Canadian and US friends (big John from Australia let us down but I’m sure he’ll be back next year). I'm surprised at the ratings on this course. I'm much nearer 4 than the average of less than 3. It does help that I played the first nine in about par before having my usual second half collapse. Some people might say the course is a bit aged whilst I think it is traditional. Well worth the green fee. I’ll be back in 2005.

I play a few rounds in June 2007. after the total renovation and preparation for the Honda LPGA ? Tour the end of this year, So now its much better than few years ago because everything is new , the downside is the golf cart is compulsory and still have to stay in the cart path so you still have to walk back and forth from the fairways. may be after the big tournament should be O.K.

The fairways are a joke, often you are in the rough when your in the middle of the fairway.

Probably the oldest and uglies caddies anywhere in this area. Most sandtraps hard as rock. Big red ants all over the rough. Close to Pattaya.

Not an overall great golf experience. Layout rather dull. It still is much better playable compared to Sriracha. The caddie I had here (called Nee) was brilliant.Good golf knowledge, best English speaking and excellent green reading. I disagreed only once with the putting advice, but had to admit to be wrong.

A very challenging golf course with so many deep bunkers. Said to host a LPGA tournament very soon (October?). One of the best in Thailand.

I played on Nov 3 at 7am. Already congestionned with groups starting both from hole 1 and hole 10. After completion of first 9 holes I had to wait for starting groups in front of me. Fully jammed (30/45 mns waiting time). Who is taking care booking time and priorities? As I was claiming the manager on duty shouted at me as I never heard on any golf course. I knew the management was poor but I was not expecting so poor. In my business any manager behaving with a such bad manner will be immediately laid off. This golf is very nice but I will never come again until the management and staff will be renewed. I am not a cash cow. By the way most of my friends have already cancelled their membership bored with the management of this golf course. There are many nice golf courses around Pattaya with better customer mind. I left the Siam country course and went to play at Phoenix. Sorry for the caddies who were nice with us.

The LPGA just had a tournament here a week or so prior to us playing and the course was gorgeous! Of the 6 courses we played over 6 days, this was by far the best day we had. The caddies were good, verging on great, the course was perfect, and the view was inspiring. This was the most memorable day of golf we had.

i play for 4-5 times there and never disappointed. Some frustrating which agree which is usual everywhere no matter in US or Europe. Actually my frustrating is not caddies/ cart rule/ food or others but it is farang! Some of farangs (i say some) are really silly and lack of common sense. One of example recently was the place we usually drop our club - ten of farangs (i think from germany!) parked two cars and blocked the access. I was really angry. One of farang was still playing around with the reception girl while left the 2 cars behide awaiting for his 'sex' play. Really pit off.

I read " Mr. Hilly " very long comments and go try out this morning , everything seem to be O.K. Only one of the three caddies needed to improved somewhat !!.The courses' condition is excellent and I only went in to 3 out of the 101 sand traps so have no complaint.

Should let golf cart into the fairway, will make everything better as Mr. Hilly suggested

played here early october. i remembered the old course from 2004 [shocking]. this revamped course is the EQUAL OF ANY IN THAILAND!!!! superb condition of fairways and true rolling greens. tough in the rough. THESE ARE THE IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR A GOLFER!!!! HIT THE FAIRWAY AND GREEN AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED. HIT IN ROUGH AND BUNKERS AND OOPS. i could not fault fairways nor greens. minor complaint was the flag placement on a few holes. too close to edges on a couple and too close to slopes on a couple. maybe the flag placer was not a golfer?

Wow... Forget the old couse .. now it's new. Very impressive golf course. With the old layout, everything is new. Fairway & rough is look like you play the US PGA. Most of the green design has reminded me the Pinehurst No.2 designed by Mr.Ross (not Pinehurst Thailand). However, the level of difficulty is very high (not recommend for new golfer or higher handicap). This course is not forgiving for any error. Once you miss, it will cost you 1 stroke. My handicap is 7 (and normally shot 38-42). My score here is 48-45 (worst score ever in the past 3 years). I call it "very challenging golf course", and I want a revenge. Club house is renovated to be a very nice and luxury. Management team & reception is quite good (for my group, not sure for everyone or not). Food is a little bit too simple. Green fee is a bit too high for local Thai (2xxx Baht, plus golf cart). But, I recommend you guys to try at least one. Experience US PGA like golf course. You should try.
