The Khao Kheow 27-hole golf course is located in the heart of the Pattaya “golf strip” between Bangkok and Pattaya. Like so many of the Eastern Seaboard’s courses the Khao Kheow Country Club is set in a valley between 2 hills and strong sea breezes are prevalent most afternoons. The course plays quite long and the elevation changes between holes is a welcome differentiating point compared to the other flatter courses in the surrounding area.

In typical Pete Dye design fashion, careful shot making is required to overcome not only the windy conditions but also to take into account the numerous large ponds, bunkers and hills that surround the well manicured fairways. Greens are heavily undulating which makes precise putting a key to scoring well.

The course really has something for everyone. In particular, the signature par-three seventeen, which plays to an island green is a challenge for both amateurs and professionals. The first 18 have been designed as a championship course, while the final 9 holes are easier, more like a resort course. Playing all 27 holes is a good option for those who would like to enjoy the variety of holes, elevations, and settings.

Those who play all 27 holes can look forward to relaxing at the well appointed clubhouse afterward their rounds. The restaurant is nothing special, but the normal Thai golfer’s favorites like minced pork with basil, fried rice, and a wide selection of noodle soups are all good choices.

Overall Khao Kheow is a well balanced Pattaya golf course that ranks in the top third of all areas courses, therefore making it a good choice for inclusion in any Pattaya golf package. Carts are optional, which also helps to keep costs lower than normal and affords all golfers a choice of walking or riding.

We played this course at 19 March 2007. Fairways and Greens were in very good condition. Challenging course is worth to play.

Played courses "C" and "A" April 30th 2007, cloudy day with much rain the previous day. Overall the course is very nicely kept, level tee boxes and green grass all around. There is a lot of water in play but most of the bunkers are decorative rather than destructive. You'll find that this is your typical mountain course where the scenery is beautiful and the fairways have a bit of a roll to them. All in all, it's a great course to play, I will definitely play again. But one word of warning - I played on a monday arriving at the course at about 7am, just after I hit the first tee a busload of Japanese golfers arrived so if you want to play here make sure you book your time and arrive early.

Becareful if you should take a partner here they will not permit any one who isnt playing on the course. Greens are fair. Fairways are patchy and lots of wet spots

One of the more challenging courses of the 6 we played over 6 days. While a challenge, it was not in the top half of the courses we played. It was still a great course that was well cared for but not one of my favorites. Caddies were on par with most in the area. Good but not great.

green speed is a bit slow cause from top soil, but over all condition is OK, however, green fee normal rate is too high!

We play on 15th Oct., fairways are narrow, if you can drive on fairways, you will get reward. the 9th or 18th holes, if you drive 200yards over water hazzard, you can par on easily, even 2on. But greens are so fast, especially you played at Pattana 14th Oct.. Our group are 4 players, 2 of 4 caddies are students, one even only 15 years old,she knows nothing. old caddie is good, she will give you useful advice.Overall, it's a nice course in Pattaya area.

May be I had a little higher expectation as I know the reputation of the designer. The course is not as though as a usual Pete Dye design. The hole with the island doesn't give you a fright, when you see how big the target is. Pace of greens was rather slow. Still is interesting enough to spent a day here.

Great course, especially on sunday afternoon when the green fee is 900Baht, only trouble is they never seem to have enough caddies which causes alot of unhappy customers, please make sure you have caddies before you except any more bookings!!!

A group of 10 players from play at this golf course on Feb. 1. My caddy was not attentive. At one time, talking with her mobile phone during play. Pay no attention where the ball land. Make little effort to find my golf ball.I decide to look for myself.

Tuesday 7th Feb. We were supposed to Tee off 8.50 am and only got going 9.15 am with no reason from started as to why.Play very slow and took 5 hours. Caddies very poor and did not understand what they were supposed to be doing. The golf course was very good and tricky in places and worth a visit but dont expect anything else from poor managers.

Played this course on 4/18/06 It was a fun experience and the caddies were nice and helpful. The course was in good shape and beautiful. I read comments on here before I played, people saying the greeens were difficult to read. I couldn't sink a putt all day because of that. I finally stopped trying to "read" the greens and just putted. I finished with 2 birdes on "17" and 18" (8 and 9) On 8 I sunk a 40' putt and on 9 I rolled a 30' put in. I was disappointed the pro shop did not have a hat for me to purchase. They said they ran out. If anyone is going there soon please let me know as I would still like a cap that says Khao Kheow.
