Thai Country Club is a joint venture between the Phataraprasit Group and the The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited. The Phataraprasit Group is a Thai-owned business conglomerate with extensive business interests in the north of Thailand, primarily in the distilling industry. The group expanded its interests into banking, ceramics, property development, investment, and retailing. The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited was originally incorporated on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The principle business of the company is the ownership and management of luxury hotels, such as the Peninsula Group, prime residential and commercial property and club management and consultancy services.

Designed under US PGA international standards by Denis Griffiths, at that time president of the world-renowned American Society of Golf Course Architects, opened in December 1996. The design adapts to everyday member use up to a very tough challenge for major international tournaments featuring the finest players in the world. The 7,157-yard course, from the professional tees, was tested during the 1997 Asian Honda Classic won by Tiger Woods.

The high-tech computer designed greens make for many interesting pin placements. The entire course features immaculate conditions, a neo-classic design and alkali variety from hole to hole, along with an abundance of water and sand hazards. The course is a constant test of one’s golfing proficiency.

Off the course, you’ll find the friendliest staff of professionals in the Kingdom, committed to making your golf experience a memorable one.

Course is excellently maintained, clubhouse is the best in Thailand, and the staff have always been extremely nice, and the cold towels at the kiosks are a great idea, the one bad thing that I will say is, they are repairing the greens, and to charge the full price when 4 - 5 greens at a time are being repaired, is ridiculous. In the US, premium courses often will discount 50% just for aerating and sanding the greens.

Played on 28th Aug. 5 star golf course and great facilities. Only 7th hole has a temp green. Rest of the course is in fantastic shape. Finished my round on Sunday in 4.5 hours! Great buffet at clubhouse restuarant.

there are many temorary greens on the course now, I think they are preparing it for a tournemnt end of this year- Volvo Masters I guess. great fairways, you do not even need to clean your shoes after18 holes. not very happy with their food,we ordered japanese curry rice for 7 people, but they served it cold!!! this was quite surprised me. caddie was great!

Horrible horrible greens. management ONLY focusses on fairway and sand bunkers!! Not Greens. Greens are hard as a rock.. Worst greens that I have come across.

Disappointed with this overated and overpriced course. Course design rather straightforward, flat and not very challenging. Not very scenic too. Greens were in bad condition. Caddies were friendly but not very helpful. Club house well run and beautiful.

played on 10th Feb.Greens finally up to speed,it would appear problems are over, the best they have been for years. The rest of the course was immaculate.Caddies are no doubt the best in Thailand, although individuals, you are allowed to book your favourite, unlike many other egalitarian establishments.Clubhouse and staff are first class, food always good if expensive.Nicest driving range in asia, grass well kept and balls always new.Highly recomended,if fully priced.PS. I don't mind what nationality the other golfers on the course are,as long as they behave correctly.

Overpriced! I ended up at this golf course when my taxi driver couldn't find the Royal Golf Club. This course looked nice from the taxi, and so I went into the club house and the staff told me that even though it was a private course, I could still play if I paid about 3,900B. I rarely pay this much to play golf, but I decided to treat myself on this day hoping for an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, I was not too impressed with the course, especially the greens, which were all very dry and sandy. The course is fairly flat and looks pleasant with just the right amount of water, although it doesn't really come into play much as I did not get a single ball wet all day, which is a rarity for me. The fairways and bunkers were in better than average condition, but the layout was pretty basic and not too challenging. All the fairways are wide without much trouble, so there is only one non-par 3 hole on the course where you might want to tee-off with something other than a driver. Many of the caddies on this course are young and very attractive, although I happened to get one who was older, but she did a good job. I played as a walking single on a Tuesday, and the speed of pay was good. I would say that the driving range is the most beautiful I have ever practiced on. All the staff was also all very friendly and professional, but I would not play this course again unless it cost me less than 2,500B, because it is really not worth anymore than that when you compare it to other similar courses in Thailand.

Played on 4th Feb. Thought that I was playing in Korea. Actually It wasn't my first time. Many things were changed. It's just become a very normal public course with a little bit good facilities. I'm really wondering if there's any person who still wanna be a member....

AVOID ! AVOID ! AVOID ! Avoid for the next 3 weeks. Greens are unplayable. Totally unplayable. Coring holes are almost half the size of golf balls. Worst I have seen anywhere. Management just does not care about golfers. It has been like this for 3 weeks already. Paying 4000 baht to play in this lousy condition is simply called "rip-off". Absolute greedy Management that gets by doing such stunts. The attitude of General Manager is pathetic. Such a nice course made awful. Members are not welcomed as it used to be. Greed, cheat and arrogance has ruined this place.

thai c.c. seems to become one of public courses...is not any more member exclusive course. I've got to know that some korean companies bought more than 20memberships without specified member's name. This companies are using this membership for korean golf tourists. That's why I could see a lot of tourists even on weekends, and it made us take more than 5.5hrs for 18h. My friend who's a member, decided to sell it away. If you go there, you'll find much more tourists than the members and guests groups. Thai c.c. is absolutely overevaluated....in every aspect.

Highly overated if you're looking for golf. Lush but soft fairways. Hard and undermaintained greens. Lay out is so so. Club house & lockers is luxouriously decorated but not so grand in size. very attentive Staff, great food and services. THis is good to visit but not regularly play because even as a guest the green fee is a total rip-off.

Played the golf course on Easter Sunday for the 1st time. Had group of 8, 4 men and 4 ladies. Mens white tees had plenty of trouble. Ladies tees might have been a little too easy; however all in the group agreed this was the best course we played on this trip. This was my fourth trip to Thailand for golf and this was definitely the 2nd best course I have played. The best was Santiburi in Chaing Rai. Being Americans that live in Hawaii the price for this golf course was not excessive although I can see where there are other quality courses in the country where the value is better. facilities are rpobably the best we have seen with the exception of Santibui. Everyone in the group thought this was a great way to end our vacation. would definitely play again. For those of you reading comments take them with a grain of salt. The course is definitely better than many would have you believe.

Course is not the most difficult, but play off the blue or blacks and it is a different ball game. Caddies are the best in Thailand. It is pricey though. Worth a visit.

Horrible greens. Worst in Asia! 13 out of 18 greens are temporary. Not worth the money. Pricey to play in only 5 decent greens. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Management very arrogant and greedy! Good staff but poor Management.

If you want a very good quality course to play. This is the one. Club house managed by a Hotel chain, good greens & fairways. Good caddies. But you pay for it.
